Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

Vitamin B2 is a water-soluble vitamin and is part of the vitamin B group.


  • Helps the body to release energy from the food you eat.
  • Keeps the skin, eyes, nervous system and mucous membranes healthy.



  • Found inside every animal and vegetable cell.
  • Good sources are: chicken, eggs, fish, milk, rice, bread.



This is rare.  Where there is a severe food shortage then symptoms include: skin problems, dry and cracked lips and poor growth in children.



No side effects have been reported of eating too much vitamin B2.
